McMichael Canadian Art Collection The McMichael Canadian Art Collection, nestled in 100 acres of stunning woodland, is renowned for showcasing 20th-century Canadian art. Canada’s Wonderland, the premier seasonal theme park in Canada, features over 200 attractions, 65 thrilling rides and Splash Works. McMichael Canadian Art Collection showcases 100% Canadian art including works by the Group of Seven, First Nations, Inuit and contemporary artists. Reptilia, a unique reptile zoo, features 20 foot long pythons and a Nile crocodile?the biggest on display in Canada. Located in Vaughan Mills is Lucky Strike Lanes, an upscale bowling lounge. Also available at Vaughan Mills is NASCAR Speed Park, which offers sheer excitement on 5 exciting tracks for all ages. The Kortright Centre, Canada’s largest environmental centre, offers more than 18 kilometres of nature trails. Famous Players Colossus at Highways 400 & 7 is an 18- screen complex resembling a spaceship on a launching pad. The City itself hosts several large events throughout the year, starting with Winterfest. This annual family-themed celebration offers free activities for the kids and is a great way for residents and visitors to take advantage of our Canadian winter and enjoy some outdoor fun. Vaughan was awarded the Winter Active Award by the province for Winterfest in 2008. Canada Day is another Vaughan event that offers fun and entertainment for families. Communities in Bloom have created a unique sense of civic pride in the residents of Vaughan. Curb Appeal is a residential beautification program with thousands of homeowners competing for an annual Curb Appeal Award. The Schools in Bloom program operates in over 50 schools and 3,000 students who work to make their schools look better.
